PBH 6R80 Billet Forward Shaft
Another shaft in the 6r80 that is of concern for big power setups is the Main Shaft. We call it the main shaft but it’s actually two pieces welded together from the factory. So its called the main shaft and hub assembly. The hub end of it fits inside of the forward clutch cylinder. Similar to the intermediate shaft, the oem construction just can not extreme loads, wheel hop, and hard shifts.
Our friends at Bluestreak are taking care of this week point in the transmission. What they do is take a brand new assembly, remove the hub from the oem shaft, then weld in a high strength shaft to replace the weak oem version. Once completed this new main shaft assembly is a direct replacement for the factory unit. With it installed, you have a 6r80 that can hold a lot more power over even entry level upgraded transmissions.
